Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Track Daily Money accesses, stores, uses, and shares data.

Summary

Track Daily Money is designed as an offline-first personal finance app. Expense records, income records, budgets, settings, categories, purposes, drafts, feedback, and optional profile details are stored on your device by default.

The app does not require an account for normal use. Optional connected features, such as Google Drive backup or AI parsing, may send only the data needed to provide that feature.

Data Stored Locally

Income and expense records, including title, amount, date, category or source, payment method, purpose, and notes.
Budgets, analytics preferences, custom categories, custom income sources, and custom purposes.
Pending drafts created from user input, shared text, receipt scans, or optional notification detection.
Settings such as language, currency, app appearance, backup preferences, parsing preferences, and local-only mode.
Optional profile details and local feedback if you choose to enter them.
Receipt image file paths may be stored with records. The image files remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them outside the app.

Permissions and Sensitive Data

Camera and photos: used only when you scan or select a receipt image.
Microphone: used only when you start voice expense or income input.
Notification access: optional Android setting used to detect transaction-like notifications and create pending drafts for your review. The app does not request READ_SMS permission for production SMS import.
Internet: used for optional Google Drive backup, optional AI parsing, optional translation, app review, or connected support features.
Storage or media: used for receipt images and exporting reports or backup files where Android requires access.

Optional Connected Features

Google Drive backup: if enabled, the app uploads a private backup file to Google Drive app data storage. Secure AI API keys and receipt image files are not included in this backup.
AI parsing: if enabled, the current text needed for parsing may be sent to the AI provider you choose. Your full expense history is not sent for parsing.
Exports: CSV, PDF, and PNG files are saved where you choose. Once exported, those files are controlled by you and by the storage or sharing destination you select.
Store review: if available, review requests may use Google Play services.

Sharing and Sale of Data

We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. Data is shared only when you choose a connected feature, export/share a file, use a third-party provider such as Google Drive or an AI provider, or when required by law.

Security

The app stores core data locally on your device. Optional AI API keys are stored using platform secure storage where available. Connected services should use HTTPS or provider-secured channels.

No app can guarantee perfect security. Keep your device screen lock, operating system, backups, and exported files protected.

Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data, or uninstall the app. Exported files remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete them. Google Drive backups can be removed from your Google Drive app data storage.

The app does not require a hosted account for normal use. If a future version adds account-based services, this policy and the support page will describe account deletion steps.

Children

Track Daily Money is intended for personal finance tracking and is not directed to children. Do not enter highly sensitive personal information unless needed for your own records.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app behavior, connected features, or legal requirements change. Material changes should be reflected by updating the effective date and making the change visible in the app or on this website.
